Marriage is about keeping perspective and being thankful for small blessings, so let it be said -- nonmetaphorically, by the way -- that on a June weekend of a family wedding, with 20 people expected for a post-nuptials brunch tomorrow, it is far better that the hot-water heater crap out than the air conditioner. (Note to self: Must avoid Costanzian reference to shrinkage when I work this into a reception toast.)
