The Penn State situation is so horrific we can't even enjoy the frisson of schadenfreude we normally feel when powerful, often arrogant men are toppled suddenly and humiliatingly -- although I'm small enough to take some pathetic satisfaction in working the words "frisson" and "schadenfreude" into one sentence.
